Carmen Amaya, l’une des figures les plus importantes du flamenco, a \u00e9t\u00e9 la premi\u00e8re \u00e0 danser le taranto sur sc\u00e8ne, notamment le 12 janvier 1942 au Carnegie Hall de New York.<\/h4>\n

Ce jour-l\u00e0, la brillante bailaora catalane a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 un grand spectacle de 15 num\u00e9ros, produit par Hurok Atractions Inc.<\/strong> L’un de ces num\u00e9ros, le neuvi\u00e8me du programme, est le taranto,<\/strong> qu’elle danse accompagn\u00e9e \u00e0 la guitare par le grand Agust\u00edn Castell\u00f3n, Sabicas. Elle est accompagn\u00e9e de son p\u00e8re, El Chino, de ses fr\u00e8res et s\u0153urs Paco, Mar\u00eda, Antonia et Leonor, du bailaor Antonio Triana, de Pelao el Viejo, de Lola Montes, de Diego Castell\u00f3n et du professeur Garc\u00eda Matos, en tant que pianiste et chef d’orchestre.<\/p>\n

Le taranto est un cante minier caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par son rythme marqu\u00e9 et soumis \u00e0 un comp\u00e1s. Amaya a adapt\u00e9 ce cante en une forme de danse, cr\u00e9ant ainsi un nouveau style flamenco qui combine l’expression dramatique du taranta avec le rythme de la zambra.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Le taranto d’Amaya a connu un succ\u00e8s retentissant<\/strong> et est devenu l‘une des danses les plus populaires du flamenco.<\/strong> Sa formule initiale, bas\u00e9e sur la ronde\u00f1a por zambra, a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 enrichie par d’autres artistes, qui y ont ajout\u00e9 leurs propres contributions.<\/p>\n
