One of those numbers,<strong> the ninth of the program, is the taranto<\/strong>, which she dances accompanied on guitar by the great Agust\u00edn Castell\u00f3n, Sabicas. She is accompanied by her father, El Chino, her siblings Paco, Mar\u00eda, Antonia and Leonor, the bailaor Antonio Triana, Pelao el Viejo, Lola Montes, Diego Castell\u00f3n and Professor Garc\u00eda Matos, as pianist and conductor.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-900 \" src=\"https:\/\/flamencomadrid.com\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/59be7072b7e170063d7c34341e767ab1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"672\" height=\"305\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The taranto is a mining cante characterized by its marked rhythm and subject to a comp\u00e1s. <strong>Amaya adapted this cante into a dance form, creating a new flamenco style that combines the dramatic expression of the taranta with the rhythm of the zambra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Amaya&#8217;s taranto was a <strong>resounding success<\/strong> and became one of <strong>the most popular dances in flamenco<\/strong>. Its initial formula, based on the ronde\u00f1a por zambra, was later enriched by other artists, who added their own contributions.<\/p>\n<p><em style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-908 \" src=\"https:\/\/flamencomadrid.com\/es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/carmen-amaya-genio-y-personalidad-catalana-en-el-baile-flamenco.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"681\" height=\"385\" \/><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<h5>The taranto, nowadays, is a dance more melancholic and sentimental than dramatic.
