Ivo Glibota knows this well. He was born in El Chaco, in northern Argentina, but for nearly ten years now he has lived in Alcorc\u00f3n. And it was in Madrid where he discovered that flamenco is not just music: it\u2019s emotion, it\u2019s identity, it\u2019s home.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"677\"><strong data-start=\"640\" data-end=\"677\">The tablao as an emotional refuge<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"679\" data-end=\"986\"><strong data-start=\"679\" data-end=\"722\">How did your story with flamenco begin?<br \/>\n<\/strong><br data-start=\"722\" data-end=\"725\" \/><em>\u201cIt was during a tough personal time. A friend showed me a video of Camar\u00f3n. I didn\u2019t understand the lyrics, but I felt what he was transmitting. Something in it spoke to me directly. From that moment on, I never let go of flamenco \u2014 and it never let go of me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"988\" data-end=\"1262\"><strong data-start=\"988\" data-end=\"1036\">How did you come to experience it in Madrid?<br \/>\n<\/strong><br data-start=\"1036\" data-end=\"1039\" \/><em>\u201cI arrived almost ten years ago and settled in Alcorc\u00f3n. At first, I went to tablaos just out of curiosity, and I ended up hooked. Flamenco gave me stability, identity, community. I started to understand Madrid through it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1264\" data-end=\"1318\"><strong data-start=\"1268\" data-end=\"1318\">An unforgettable night at Tablao Flamenco 1911<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1320\" data-end=\"1657\"><em>\u201cOne time, at Tablao Flamenco 1911, I saw El Tete dance \u2014 for me, he\u2019s the best young dancer right now. Singing were Jos\u00e9 del Calli and Jos\u00e9 de la Miguela. They started looking at each other, clapping rhythms between them\u2026 they were enjoying themselves. It was pure art. And me, from my table, I just couldn\u2019t take it. I got goosebumps.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1659\" data-end=\"1710\"><strong data-start=\"1663\" data-end=\"1710\">Flamenco without borders: truth and emotion<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1712\" data-end=\"1968\"><strong data-start=\"1712\" data-end=\"1769\">What is it about flamenco that captures you the most?<br \/>\n<\/strong><br data-start=\"1769\" data-end=\"1772\" \/><em>\u201cIt\u2019s a universal language. When it\u2019s real, flamenco doesn\u2019t need translation. It doesn\u2019t matter where you\u2019re from. You feel it. And Madrid is full of places where that truth happens every night.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1970\" data-end=\"2031\"><strong data-start=\"1974\" data-end=\"2031\">The best flamenco tablaos in Madrid, according to Ivo<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2033\" data-end=\"2514\"><strong data-start=\"2033\" data-end=\"2131\">Which tablaos would you recommend to someone wanting to experience a flamenco night in Madrid?<\/strong><br data-start=\"2131\" data-end=\"2134\" \/>\u201cMy favorite is Tablao Flamenco 1911. It has quality, history, and duende. I also really like Cardamomo, especially for the quality of the artists that perform there. For me, those two are on the level Casa Patas had before it closed. El Corral de la Morer\u00eda is good if you want dinner with a show, but what I look for is something that stirs me inside \u2014 and I find that at 1911.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2516\" data-end=\"2577\"><strong data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"2577\">The unrepeatable magic of an authentic flamenco night<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2579\" data-end=\"2978\"><strong data-start=\"2579\" data-end=\"2677\">What do you think makes the difference between a good flamenco night and an unforgettable one?<br \/>\n<\/strong><br data-start=\"2677\" data-end=\"2680\" \/><em>\u201cFor me, it\u2019s all about the passion. You can have technique, good production\u2026 but if there\u2019s no emotion, it doesn\u2019t reach you. But when the artist gives everything, when there\u2019s connection between them and with the audience, something happens that can\u2019t be repeated. That\u2019s what I always look for.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2980\" data-end=\"3043\"><strong data-start=\"2984\" data-end=\"3043\">The tablao as a lighthouse: a passion that doesn\u2019t fade<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3045\" data-end=\"3323\"><strong data-start=\"3045\" data-end=\"3097\">Can you imagine ever stopping going to a tablao?<br \/>\n<\/strong><br data-start=\"3097\" data-end=\"3100\" \/><em>\u201cNo. Even if I go less because of work or whatever, I always come back. The tablao is like a lighthouse. When I need to feel something, I go back to it.
